Tampa Fla. — Day 1 is in the books. Top 3 from each heat plus next 3 times will advance.
Highly ranked Kenny Selmon of North Carolina easily won his heat with a time of 48.98 and will compete again Friday at 2:30 pm (2nd heat).
As I stated in a prevous article lane assignment is crucial for some runners to make it to Eugene.
Heat 1 of the men’s 400 M Hurdles will feature McKinly Brown, Malcum Tatum, Taylor Mclaughlin and Cory Poole. I sure hope Mr. Poole has worked on being able to run a great race without seeing anyone ahead of him because that is exactly what he will need to advance. In lane 3 Mckinly Brown will have a great view of what everyone is doing. Malcum Tatum and Taylor McLaughlin should be fine.
Heat 2 of the men’s 400 M Hurdles should be interesting. Kenny Selmon should once again easily take the heat but 2nd and 3rd maybe a photo finish. I also believe 4th and 5th place will advance on time.
Heat 3 of the men’s 400 M Hurdles will feature Gregory Chiles, Rasheed Tatham and Jaelen williams. I think Chase Bonham or Wayne Newman will end someone season in this race.
